Job Description We are seeking an experienced Product Owner with strong ecommerce and retail domain expertise to lead the vision, strategy, delivery, and continuous improvement of key retail products and workflows. In this role, you will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, engineering teams, and cross-functional partners to define requirements, prioritize backlogs, and deliver high-impact solutions. Your focus will be on enhancing operational efficiency, pricing, promotions, supplier collaboration, merchandising workflows, and overall customer value. Responsibilities: Product Strategy & Ownership Own and drive the product strategy, roadmap, and backlog for retail-facing systems (e.g., Pricing, Promotions, Supplier Portal, Deals/Funding, Merchandising workflows). Ensure alignment between product initiatives, business priorities, and technical feasibility. Conduct competitive benchmarking and market research to keep products innovative and aligned with industry trends. Requirements & Stakeholder Management Partner with Commercial, Buying, Finance, and Operations teams to translate business needs into detailed product requirements. Develop clear user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, and functional specifications. Facilitate alignment across stakeholders and manage expectations throughout the product lifecycle. Delivery & Execution Lead end-to-end product delivery—from discovery and requirement gathering to release and post-launch optimization. Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, demos, and retrospectives. Collaborate with engineering, QA, UX, and data teams to ensure scalable and high-quality solutions. Systems & Integration Manage integrations across upstream and downstream systems such as RMS, ERP, pricing and promotion portals, supplier tools, and financial systems. Ensure product designs account for APIs, workflows, system dependencies, and data models. Performance & Continuous Improvement Analyze product performance using data insights and KPIs. Identify improvement opportunities and drive enhancements based on stakeholder feedback and operational metrics. Support onsite discovery or rollout activities as needed. Qualifications 8 years’ experience as a Product Owner in ecommerce or retail environments (mandatory). Strong understanding of retail processes including pricing, promotions, deals/funding workflows, supplier collaboration, merchandising, assortment planning, and financial reconciliation. Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into user stories, functional specifications, and wireframes. Solid understanding of system integrations, APIs, workflows, and data models. Hands-on experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience using dashboards, queries, and data analysis tools. Experience working with AI/ML-enabled tools (e.g., generative AI, recommendation engines, automation workflows) is a plus. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders. Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills. Willingness to travel for short-term onsite discovery or rollout support.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in product ownership or a related field
- Proven track record of driving business growth through product development and strategy
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and product development lifecycle
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including development, design, and QA
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize features and make data-driven decisions
- Familiarity with product management tools, such as Jira, Asana, or Trello
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field
